EasyGuard vented domes have the same fitting design as the standard Phonak vented domes and can be used with Phonak SDS 4.0, 5.0 & 6.0 Slimtubes and Receivers. 
 
EasyGuard domes are specially designed hearing aid eartips that protect the receiver from earwax using a sealed, sound-transmitting membrane. This innovation simplifies hearing aid maintenance by reducing the need for traditional wax filter changes, as the membrane acts as a built-in wax barrier. This leads to easier cleaning and less hassle for the user, while also helping to extend the life of the hearing aid.

Phonak & Unitron advise that domes should be changed when they become stiff or brittle. This is to prevent the dome from detaching from the receiver sound outlet during insertion into or removal from the ear.

The technology
The EasyGuard design features a sound-transmitting membrane that seals the receiver, creating a new wax barrier between the nozzle for the receiver and the dome. Apart from the necessary modifications required to ensure the manufacturability of this wax shield, the geometry of the domes remains unchanged.
 
A secondary objective of the new dome is to position the CeruStop filter as a secondary wax barrier, situated between the newly integrated Wax-Shield membrane and the receiver nozzle. In other words, the receiver, equipped with the CeruStop wax guard, is now sealed by a mechanical structure comprising a set of membranes, thereby providing significantly enhanced protection of the receiver.

Description
The Phonak domes are available in Open, Vented-Closed and Power.
Open domes feature ventilation holes that maximise airflow to the ear canal while causing the least occlusion. Phonak open EasyGuard domes are suitable for sloping mild to moderate hearing loss.
Vented-Closed domes from Phonak come with two small vent holes. They can be used for mild to moderate to severe hearing loss.
Power domes offer the most intense sound experience, making them particularly suitable for patients with moderate-to-severe to profound hearing loss.
