Widex SmartRIC
Even a great hearing aid has always sounded like a hearing aid – until now.
The revolutionary WIDEX SmartRIC™ changes the game to deliver the purest, natural sound ever. Typically, sound processed in a hearing aid reaches the eardrum later than sound heard directly. And when these two ‘out of sync’ signals mix, you get an artificial sound.
But now you can hear every moment - like you used to. We call this new sound experience, PureSound™.
What makes Widex hearing aids unique?
Widex SmartRIC and Widex Moment series of hearing aids are slick and classy, but more importantly, the sound of Widex hearing aids are the most natural among the premium hearing aids in the market. The reason is that the sound processing and the adjustment of the frequency bands in Widex are different compared to other hearing aids. Widex uses a time series for filtering and adjusting amplification levels at each frequency band. That makes the manufacturer achieve processing delays as low as 0.5 to 1.0 milliseconds compared to other manufacturers' processing delays of around 5.0 to 7.5 milliseconds. This single attribute of Widex hearing aids makes Widex the hearing aid of choice for musicians and those with higher levels of sound and acoustics. Learn more about Widex ZeroDelay technology here.
What is the difference between Widex SmartRIC 440, 330, 220 and 110?
The number after Widex SmartRIC is the technology level of Widex hearing aids. The higher the number the higher the level of the speech understanding and noise impression. Read more about Widex Moment Sheer here.
How does Widex SmartRIC help speech understanding?
Widex is the leading supplier of premium hearing aids that use in-house developed technologies for speech enhancement. Widex SmartRIC uses Speech Enhancer, Audibility Entender, Feedback Cancellation, InterEar, and real-time machine-learning to provide the utmost speech understanding to the user. In addition, evidence-based results confirm that the new design of Widex SmartRIC improves the directionality of the speech, resulting in a better signal-to-noise ratio, in other words, better speech understanding in noisy environmnts.

Is Widex SmartRIC the best hearing aid on the market?
It is hard to argue which of the premium hearing aids is the best one. Widex has a different approach to sound processing that allows the shortest delay in sound between what the user hears directly through the domes in the ear canal and the sound that is amplified and processed through the hearing aid. That uniquely apart Widex hearing aids in terms of the most natural sound to users with hearing loss. Widex artificial intelligence and other techniques to improve speech recognition if not better than the rest at least on par with the rest of the premium hearing aids. Is Widex SmartRIC waterproof?
Widex SmartRIC is rated IP68 meaning that it is dust and moisture-resistant and can stand submerged in 1.5mt water for 0.5 hours without being damaged. Please see this article on HearingNow blog to learn how to handle your hearing aid if it is exposed to water.
Should I buy Widex Moment rechargeable or battery-powered?
The choice of rechargeable versus battery-operated hearing aid is a personal and mostly lifestyle. People with nonroutine work shifts and those with lots of travelling time may choose battery-operated so they can always put in a new battery and move on with their life and work. Those whose day-to-day is more structured may choose rechargeable hearing aids. Other factors such as the cost of hearing aid batteries, and environmental considerations are other key decision points for the users.
How fast do the Widex SmartRIC hearing aids fully charge?
A 4-hour charge is usually enough to get your Widex SmartRIC fully charged. A half-hour charge will give a run time of 8 hours to your Widex SmartRIC hearing aids.
How long does Widex SmartRIC keep its battery charge when fully charged?
When fully charged your Widex SmartRIC could offer a generous 37 hours battery life. The battery life of rechargeable hearing aids also depends on other factors including the severity of your hearing loss, the percentage of the time you wear them in different soundscapes and the time used for streaming and hands-free phone calls.
Are Widex SmartRIC hearing aids good for my brain?
Absolutely. If you have a hearing loss it is highly recommended to start using hearing aids. Lack or delay in managing your hearing loss might have a negative impact on your balance, cognitive power, and your memory.
