Phonak Virto Infinio Custom is released

There is good and bad news for those of you waiting for Phonak to release Virto custom-made on the Infinio platform. Phonak Virto Infinio IIC and CIC (size 10 battery) are available now, but you still have to wait for Phonak Virto Infinio ITC and ITE rechargeable and Bluetooth hearing aids.

We are pleased to let you know that Phonak UK is ready to receive orders for Phonak Virto custom-made series on their latest Infinio platform. This includes:

• Phonak Virto Infinio CIC 10 battery, and

• Phonak Virto Infinio Titanium IIC.

The release of Phonak Virto ITC/ITE rechargeable custom-made models will be announced later.

What is the difference between a regular and a Titanium Phonak Virto IIC?

The standard material used to make custom-made hearing aids is acrylic. Titanium is an alternative, but at a higher cost, to make invisible IIC or CIC hearing aids. Using Titanium to make an IIC hearing aid would be a good option if the patient is allergic to acrylic, or the ear canal of the patient is not large enough. Using Titanium, which is a stronger material than Acrylic, allows the lab technician to make the shell of the hearing aid thinner, hence allowing it to be smaller and suitable for people with medium ear canals who insist on having invisible IIC hearing aids.

Will Phonak release a rechargeable Phonak Virto Infinio custom-made hearing aid?

Yes, but Phonak is yet to announce the date of a rechargeable Phonak Virto Infinio custom-made. Please stay tuned by registering for our mailing list.

How durable are Phonak custom-made Virto hearing aids?

The custom-made hearing aids, if not completely but partially, are placed in the ear canal, which is warm and moist, so they may need repair and service more than the receiver-in-the-canal hearing aids. My advice to patients is to consider the longest warranty they can to secure their investment in a pair of custom-made hearing aids. Please see our Warranty Terms here.

Do Phonak Virto Infinio custom-made hearing aids have a Spheric mode?

No, Phonak Infinio Sphere was only released in RIC form. Phonak Infinio custom-made hearing aids will be at the Infinio standard technology. Please see this article on Phonak Infinio Sphere.

Can I stream music through Phonak Virto Infinio custom-made hearing aids?

Phonak Infinio custom-made ITE and ITC hearing aids will take 312 batteries and have Bluetooth capability that allows them to connect to 8 devices and be actively paired to 2 of them at the same time, including laptop and desktop computers. This makes Phonak custom-made Infinio a good choice for people working from home who do a lot of streaming and teleconferencing over Zoom and Google Meet. Please note that Phonak Virto Infinio ITE and ITC with Bluetooth are yet to be released at the time of this article.

How long does making a pair of Phonak Virto Infinio custom-made take?

Any custom-made hearing aids usually take about 2-3 weeks. It is out of our control and depends on Phonak Lab's workload and internal processes.

What are the steps to order Phonak Virto Infinio invisible IIC hearing aids?

Here are the steps to order a pair of Phonak Virto Infinio invisible hearing aids:

1. Book your hearing test in our clinic (London only)

2. We will do a hearing test and take impressions on the first visit, and we will send your impressions to the Phonak lab

3. We will invite you to the clinic for a fitting appointment as soon as your Phonak Virto Infinio invisible hearing aids are ready

I use Phonak Virto Blero. Do I need fresh impressions to order Phonak Virto Infinio?

If you already have Phonk in the canal or the ear hearing aids and you are very happy with their fit, then you don't need to have fresh impressions. We could place your order for Phonak Virto Infinio custom-made with Phonak based on the image file of your last custom hearing aids that you have with them.

Does Phonak Virto Infinio IIC have Bluetooth?

Phonak Virto Infinio IIC and CIC do not have Bluetooth; however, Phonak Virto Infinio ITE and ITC have Bluetooth and can be remotely adjusted and reprogrammed.

Can Phonak Virto Infino IIC be programmed remotely?

No, only Phonak Virto Infinio ITE and ITC have Bluetooth and can be tuned, adjusted and reprogrammed remotely.

What are the technology differences between Phonak Virto Infinio's custom-made hearing aids?

Phonak Virto Infinio custom-made comes in tech levels 90, 70, 50 and 30. Please see the comparison table of the tech levels below.

How to order Phonak custom-made hearing aids?

Here are 5 easy steps to order your Phonak CIC and IIC hearing aids with HearingNow.

1. Send us your audiogram so we can discuss your choices. Please use the form at the bottom of this page to send us your audiogram.

2. Book a Hearing Test & Consultation in our clinic so we can make ear impressions from your ear canals. Or, mail us your deep-canal ear impressions that you have obtained from a local audiologist. This can be a physical ear impression or a file that you can email us. If you already have a pair of Phonak in-the-canal hearing aids, the manufacturer already has your files, so please skip this step.

3. We will make the custom-made hearing aids and mail them to your address within 2-3 weeks.

4. We will do remote programming and tuning to make sure that they sound natural. Please note that only ITE and ITC can be remotely adjusted. Your hearing aids need to be paired with your mobile phone through the myPhonak hearing aid app. For adjusting IIC and CIC hearing aids, you can visit one of our clinics in London or a local audiologist (fees may apply).

5. You will have a 30-day money-back guarantee if you wish to return them. Also, a 5-year UK warranty if you keep them.
